About Us

Tru Yoga has been a vibrant part of the South Wedge community since 2008, when it was founded by Christi Tumminelli. Christi began building a strong and inclusive community at the original studio on Gregory Street, creating a space for connection, growth, and mindful practice.

Soon after its founding, medical students Michael Insel and Catherine Trimbor took over the studio, continuing the tradition of fostering a welcoming environment while balancing their rigorous academic lives. Under their care, the studio continued to thrive as a local hub for yoga practice.

The studio then transitioned to new ownership with Pete and Lindsay Nabozny, who led the community through its next phase of growth. Recognizing the need for more space, they moved Tru Yoga to a larger location just up the block at 696 South Ave, further solidifying the studio's presence in the South Wedge.

In 2019, Tru Yoga found new leadership in Imani and Eric Olear, who relocated the studio across the street to its current home at 683 South Ave. Their leadership helped the studio continue to evolve while maintaining its deep connection to the community.

Most recently, longtime students and teachers Vanessa Airey and Kass Degus have taken over as the current stewards of Tru Yoga. Dedicated to honoring the studio’s rich history while shaping its future, they bring their years of experience and love for the community into every aspect of the space.

Through each transition, Tru Yoga’s heart has remained the same: a commitment to community and inclusivity. Whether you’ve been with us since the early days or are joining for the first time, Tru Yoga is a place to feel at home.
